About

CINDY WEIL - Artist, Designer and Founder of I80West, the Wallpaper Collective and the Immigrant Yarn Project.

My work is characterized by a keen interest in the materiality and history of wool and its use in the exploration of liminality and the female experience. Liminality is a place of transition, where boundaries blur, and the familiar dissolves into the unknown. It is here that I think life's most profound transformations occur.

The process of turning raw wool into a singular form is chaotic, unpredictable, and intimately linked to my work. Change is hard, and transformation is humbling. Sometimes just letting go can lead to profound places. In this spirit, I’m always trying to cultivate a cool loneliness, a state of serene solitude and relinquishment, that I can communicate through the work.
